BBC is currently running an international playwriting competition for playwrights. The deadline for the competition is July 31st, 2012.
The BBC International Radio Playwriting Competition is run by the BBC World Service and is held in conjunction with commonwealth writers. The competition is open to anyone above age 18 who resides outside Britain.
The ideal entry is a drama entry written for a radio audience that runs for not longer than 53 minutes and has a maximum of 6 characters. The competition has wo categories; one of the competitions is open to those who have English as their first language and the other is for those who have English as their second language.
The winners win about £2,000 in prize money. Both winners will have the opportunity to visit London and see their plays made into a full radio production which will eventually be broadcast on the BBC World Service.
