Kris Jenner came under fire this week for putting her daughter Kim Kardashian on birth control at the tender age of 15. But Kris is now defending her actions, saying her liberal parenting ways were a strategy to ‘protect’ her kids. And the mother of five daughters admits she felt no hesitation putting ‘all’ of her girls on the birth control pill as soon as they expressed an interest in sex.
Kris recalls what prompted her decision; ‘Kim came to me and you know, was very honest with me and said ”Mummy I think I’m feeling, you know, sexual.’ ‘What I did as a parent with all my girls, when I felt like it was that time in their life that they were going to take that step… I drove as fast as I could to the gynecologist’s office,’ she says.
‘You can try and talk your kids out of [having sex], but unless you lock your child in the closet and throw the key away, they’re going to do what they feel,’ she says. ‘So my philosophy has also been make sure your kids are healthy, well taken care of and educated.’ Jenner reveals the doctor who gave ‘all’ her daughters birth control was the same doctor who delivered them as babies, and that her older girls were ‘different ages’ when they went on the pill.
Jenner is mother to three daughters - Kourtney, Kim and Khloe - by her first husband (celebrity lawyer Robert Kardashian). Her youngest daughters with current husband Bruce Jenner are Kylie, 14, and Kendell, 16.
