BET Awards 2012

A lot happened at the 2012 BET Awards on Sunday night, which held at The Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles yesterday (Sunday, the 1st of July 2012). D’Angelo performed live on TV for the first time in years; the late Whitney Houston was remembered with a show-stopping performance; and Kimye did their best to keep the rumors swirling about their relationship. The live broadcast featured some of the biggest stars in the music world, including Jay-Z, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj & Usher

Nigerians stand up please for your boy Wizkid. Nigerian sensation Wizkid & Ghanian rapper, Sarkodie were both announced as joint winners of the BET award for the Best International Act (Africa). Other nominees were Nigeria’s Iceprince, Kenya’s Camp Mulla, Mali’s Mokobe and South Africa’s Lira.

Beyonce & Kim Kardashian are really fast becoming best mates. The two celebrities seemed to have a whole lot to chat about.

Mariah Carey delivered an emotional tribute speech to the late Whitney Houston. She said “The first time I heard Whitney‘s voice, I was mesmerized like the rest of the world. Just an unknown, budding singer myself, I was captivated by the power in her range, the richness of her tone and her unique ability to wrap a lyric in emotion. We’ll always have that voice we all fell in love with. She inspired us all.”
