General Buhari loses first daughter

Major General Muhammadu Buhari’s first daughter – Zulaihatu – has passed on at the age of 40. Zulaihatu died due to complications from a sickle cell condition she suffers at the Nasara Hospital in Marafa Estate, Kaduna after child birth. Zulaihatu was born on December 5, 1972 and already had 2 children – Amira & Mohammed. Her death comes at a time when the Buhari’s should be celebrating. Zulaihatu’s birthday would have been 4 days from today (December 5th) while her dad would be turning 70 on the 17th of December. General Buhari’s other daughter – Halima is also preparing for her wedding set to hold on the 22nd of December.

Zulai is survived by  her husband, Captain Mahmud Junaid and three children, including the new born baby. She has since been buried according to Islamic rights.
