2014 Afrinolly Short Film Competition: ‘Yellow Fever’ by Ng’endo Mukii

‘Yellow Fever’ is a documentary by Ng’endo Mukii. The video is an exploration of ‘feeling a little bit uncomfortable’, interested in the concept of skin and race, and what they imply; in the ideas and theories sown into our flesh that change with the arc of time. It focuses on African women’s self-image, through memories and interviews; using mixed media to describe our almost schizophrenic pursuit of globalised beauty.

‘Yellow Fever’ has been shortlisted for the 2014 Afrinolly Short Film Competition. You can vote online until January 17, 2014. The winners will be announced on January 20, 2014. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 in each of the two categories namely Short Movie and Documentary.
