Former CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Is The New Emir Of Kano!


The immediate past Governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank, Lamido Sanusi has been named as the new Emir of the Kano Emirate. He succeeds the  Late Ado Bayero, who passed on on Friday, 6th of June, and has since been buried according to the Islamic rites.

Sanusi, is a grandson of late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Mohammmadu Sanusi,  who ruled before Ado Bayero from 1954 to 1963. He is also married to one of the late Emir’s daughter’s, Princess Sadiya Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (Nee Bayero). He is now the 14th Emir of Kano.
