Video Footage: “John Fashanu Praises James Ibori” & “BBC Footage on How Ibori Started as a Petty Thief”
On April 17, 2012, former Delta State governor, James Ibori was sentenced to 13 years in prison for money laundering.
British Born Nigerian Footballer John Fashanu on Tuesday 17th April 2012 at the Southwark Crown Court, London testified as a character witness to convicted James Ibori.
Fashanu claims ‘James Ibori is a good and generous man’ Fashanu who also assisted in organising ‘One Million Man Rally’ for Late Nigerian Dictator General Sanni Abacha, together with James Ibori and known Nigerian hustler Daniel Kanu also denied ever campaigning for Mr Abacha.
Fashanu’s testimony did not save James Ibori from getting 13 years in prison for stealing money meant to develop oil rich Niger Delta in Nigeria and bringing proceeds of crime to the United Kingdom.
The second is a video documentary by BBC telling us that the former governor started his stealing career in London as a petty thief at a Wickes Hardware store before he became a governor.
